According to an announcement released by Samsung, the new Ultra High-1 (UHS-1) memory cards will be available in a 16 GB storage capacity. The new high performance UHS-1 interface is capable of up to a maximum read speed of 80 MB/s, which is more than four times the read speeds seen onmicroSD cards today. No pricing information has been released as of yet for these new cards.
Samsung Electronics executive vice president of memory sales & marketing Wanhoon Hong took pride stating that “MicroSD cards with a UHS-1 interface offer users an extremely high level of performance on their LTE smartphones and for other advanced mobile applications. This allows consumers to enjoy high-quality images and video playback directly from the memory cards, which fully support the advanced performance features of diverse digital gadgets.”
Samsung has future plans to offer a wider range of storage capacities to meet with every consumers needs.
