A new Tegra-based game has arrived onto Android for both Tegra 2 dual-core and Tegra 3 quad-core devices. Coming from developer Hoplite Research, this new racing game is calledJett Tailfin Racers and features underwater racing as fish in the same quirky style that you would find in titles like Mario Kart.
Jett Tailfin Racers is all about racing in underwater tracks as fish. There are a variety of tracks and different fish to unlock as you progress through the game. The gameplay itself is similar in style to other titles like Mario Kart where, as you race around the track, you can collect power-ups to either boost your speed or hinder your enemies.
Jett Tailfin Racers Features:
- Support for Bluetooth or USB game controllers. (USB gamepads only supported on Android 3.1 or higher.)
- Play with friends via multi-player LAN support.
- Features motion-blur shaders and other advanced under-water lighting effects.
- Family-friendly gameplay.
- Nice 3D visuals
For those of you who enjoy your racing games and playing them with controllers, Jett Tailfin Racers supports both USB and Bluetooth controllers. Of course you can always just play it using the accelerometer and touchscreen controls as well. Multiplayer gameplay is also available via LAN in case you want to smack around some friends in-game. Maps also have more than one path that you can take although the alternative routes are sometimes well hidden.
One thing to note, at times it seems like you hit an imaginary wall when racer and getting to close to the edge. That is because there is actually an invisible wall there to keep people from straying too far off the courses. So if you are up for a little underwater Mario Kart style racing, you might want to check Jett Tailfin Racers out. You can nab it off of either Tegra Zone or the Google Play Store for $2.99.
Thanks to Roger Lyons for the heads up!
